The shifter: I just made a plate out of sheet metal that would bolt in the stock location. The cable and stuff is nothing. Any you need any more help or anything let me know.

pretty simple really. i used a piece of flat aluminum to bolt to the stock location then bolted the sifter to that plate with some spacers, so the height was correct for the console. had to open the shifter area up abit to get the room for the shifter to move all the way back. the cable was a breeze to. just used a step drillbit to make the hole in the floor pan just in front of the shifter.

I didn't even use a plate. I was in a rush. 3 of the holes in my shifter lined up with the stock shifter hole locations so I just had to drill one more hole in the body and bolted the shifter straight down (B&M pro ratchet). Never had a problem. Solid as can be.

Thanks for the pics guys, i should have the rebuild done this week hopefully then i can get the converter and shifter and be done. How thick and what material is that plate you used grn95TA. Is that a hurst quarter stick, i have been thinking about that one or the pistol grip.

Jon i will be sending you a pm about the free speed sensor mod.

go to the junk yard and get the piece that has 2 bolts (10mm) and holds the console on the 5 and 6 speed cars...then get a plate of 1/4" thick steel... that way you mount your shifter in the middle of that then tack weld the plate on the bracket and the front of the trans tunnel and you can just cut the takcks off and re mount until you like the position. i had a B&M prostick and tht is BY FAR my fav shifter... i LOVED IT, all my lights worked, reverse, NSS and speed!
not to mention i built a shifter plate out of a old A4 plate and fiberglass, covered with leather :)

i belive it is 3/16" thick. it is alluminium and yes it is a hurst quarter stick. i have a rmvb and it works flawlessly. i helped a friend install the pistol grip version in his 94Z. we did it the same way as mine.

What is everyone doing for a crossmember. Ive heard of someone modifying the stock A4 piece to fit, I cant justify dropping $170 for a BMR though.
