Hey everybody, Im getting a Circle D 5C converter next week. Im curious what kind of 60' and ET reduction I am likely to see. The car with the mods in the sig, has gone best of 12.93 @107 1.91 60'. The 5C is about a 4000-4200 rating. Any guesses?

I couldn't tell ya what it'll do for times, but that's a massive stall for a car that doesn't even have a cam in it! O_o

Have fun, man! :)

Yeah I know its big, but Im staying a bolton car until I break 11's then Ill cam it. Most guys do well on the 3600 converters, but i want a little more shift extension. Thanks man.

if you use the converter they recommend i do not see any reason why you should not pick up 4-7 tenths circle D has been around for quite a while.....they did a few 700r4s for me back in the early 90's........

Thats what im looking to see is atleast 4 tenths. That will help me take down some strong LS1 cars around where im at.

This makes me want to go stick my ss3600 in my car, I just need to find a tuner around here first.

That converter will work very well for you. Don't be scared to go big on the converter. I would say you'll be 12.4-12.5's. Make sure you experiment with launching it differently. My converter doesn't 60-foot nearly as good if I hold it at the line at 1200rpm or so, and then flash it hard on the green light. It 60-foots much better if I preload it to near 3000rpm on the line. It doesn't "feel" like it launches better but the timeslip doesn't lie.

Try launching your car off an idle, and then at different rpm's to see what it likes.

My car likes a 1500 stall up at the moment on the stocker. Its almost a 1/10 in 60' when I do it that way. Your on to something with the preload. I was looking at the SS3600 before Circle D, but none of the cars around me go fast on that converter.

I was hoping for a 4-5 tenth drop with my 3400... my 60 foots dropped from 2.0/2.1's to 1.69/1.7x's after the stall. with the 3.73s it ripped my helmet off at the track. unfortunately i had serious hesitation issues and ran the same 12.9 as i did before i installed the torque converter.

Have you figured out your issues yet? Your car can 60' man. :metal:

With the SS3800 I cut a 1.51 60' while working on adjusting my suspension/tire pressure for the LTx shootout...so they work pretty good IMO.

Me/ Chased/ and Larry @ Speed all run similar converters in our cars.

I ordered a Circle D 4C today, Which is a 3600. I dont make enough power to warrant over a 4k stall yet. Your car 60's awesome, but your also a H/C car, as opposed to me being a bolton. Your car shounds like it flys though.

I put my converter in on wednesday and I must say.. WOW. It feels exactly like I had hoped it would. Not super tight, but not super loose. Im still breaking it in. I have almost 70 miles, with plenty of lock/unlock to help break in the clutches. Chris at Circle D told me to put at least 10 miles on it and lock it up a few times before i go WOT. This sounds kinda short, so Im just taking my time. Any suggestions/methods?
