So when I was taking down my transmission I thought it would be a great idea to just throw all the bolts in one big box - the problem now is trying to figure out which ones go where. Using the process of elimination I've come to the conclusion that these are the pressure plate bolts (pressure plate to flywheel bolts):

However, the first bolt I tried to put in snapped, so if these are indeed the right bolts, where can I get more? What is the ARP Part number for them?

i had the same issue as you i went to a gm dealer and got 6 of them and only spent 6 bucks. i dont remember the dealer part number but they can look it up, i actually snapped 2 of them off before getting new ones.

So thats the right bolt then?

yea thats the right bolt, they stretch after use so when u try to torque them down to 30 foot pounds i think it is they snap. take that bolt in with u to the dealer they tryed to give me the wrong bolts a few times. then brought out the right ones and they were like 9 dollars cheaper a bolt. but it came to 5.90 some thing for all 6.

So you torque them to around 25?
That would explain why I snapped mine. I was trying to torque it to 55lbs - I was reading an LS1 write up. :brows:

My Chilton guide says 25lbs so I'm going to go with that. The bolt held up pretty well figuring I was torquing them to twice the specs.

So GM has discontinued the part - this should be fun.

Oh wow, another smooth GM move. Add that to the growing list of F-body parts they don't make any more. Strangely, many of them T56 related. :hmm:
And I don't know of an ARP replacement. When I did my swap years ago, I got those bolts from the dealer. I have no idea where you can get them now. Ebay? Or a junkyard.

Have your dealer do a locate on them and they should find some they can have shipped in from other places. I dealt with this about 6 months ago.

ARP will tell you they have bolts that will work, they even gave me two part numbers. But when I looked at the length of the bolt, they definitely will not work. They list the same bolt for LS1's and LT1's when I know for a fact they are different.
I'll try that thing with the dealer, but the people at the dealerships around here are real assholes.
I also PMed Larry at Speed-Inc to see what they do.
