I have a forged 383 its pretty much ready to go together and in, it has a forged eagle crank and looks to be a 2pc design and is the larger bolt pattern then my stock flywheel. After searching i cannot find a flywheel that will work for a t56 2pc rear main seal. I have a t5 flywheel that fits the bolt pattern but looks much diffrent then a t56 flywheel. I dont want to go out and spend a bunch of money on a high dollar not needed flywheel. Im not going to make any big hp numbers with it im just going to use the 383 to replace my worn out 185k h/c/i lt1. So i can rev a bit higher. Im still using a stock style replacement clutch that has about 1000 miles on it. Does anyone have ideas or know where i can get a flywheel that will fit this and is there anything i have to worry about balence wise?

thank you in advance!

Man thats a good question. But there obviously kits out there and flywheels to do it because look at all the older streetrods that are running t-56s on older engines. There has to be a flywheel out there.

yea i know that what i dont understand. when i switch my turd gen from a 1pc rear main to a 2, all i had to do was order a flywheel for a 85 camaro and it was a 2pc design and only cost like 75 bucks. its looking like this flywheel will be tripple that.

Centerforce and McLeod sell conversion flywheels from 2pc RMC cranks, to the T56 pull-style clutch of the LT1. Neither is cheap, but you have to get an aftermarket conversion piece because there was never a factory combo for this.

going to that type flywheel prolly wouldnt allow a stock pressure plate and disk thought would it.

Yes it would, that's the whole point.

I run a McLeod FW on my 2pc RMS block, and it runs an LT4 PP and mcleod LT1 twin disk to the LT1-style T56.
