Well not mine but my Camaro! Noticed a few drops in the back garage floor when I pulled my car out. Never torn a 10 bolt apart. Anyone have any suggestions or tips to make this new job easier?
I thought your rear only leaked after having a couple cases with your buddy!?!?
If its the pinion seal, or the diff cover leaking those are easy fixes. If its coming from the outer edge like an axle seal, thats a bit more challenging. But as long as you can take something apart and put it back together in reverse order, with a decent set of tools, you can do it Im sure.

Haha!! The bubble guts!! Hate it when that happens! Yea looks like an axle seal. So it's not necassary to completly rip the gears out. Sorry bro. I'm a noob when it comes to rear ends. On cars anyway!:)
You'll have to take off the diff cover, undo the c-clips that retain the axles. And slip the axle out to replace the seal.
I'm sure you could find a write up somewhere if needed.

What I'd like to do is find a good used 12 bolt and install that. 10 bolts suck.

I'm not going to touch this thread with a 5 foot pole.
But, LT1Runner, if you have any questions with an 10boltaxle swap let me know.

Thanks bro! If the funds become available then that's what I'll do. Right now I may just have to go with the quick fix. Oh and earlier reports were wrong. Looks like the pinion seal is the culprit.

it's coming from the outter side of the rear? If it is the axle seals are going to have to be pressed out. So if that's what is leaking you gunna need to find a press. Pretty easy job to do though. My brother has an lsx car and we just replaced the rear pinion seal on it....but i think all pinion seals on these ten bolts leak.
