Home job port and polish (first time watch YouTube)
Vs
Pay a local shop to work them over
Vs
Send them off to lloyd Elliot for his LE2 work

I have a 2nd set of heads for my LT1 an they have been setting on the floor for 2 years now.
And i am wanting to get some port work done so they make more power than my stock as cast heads that are in the car. Lloyd Elliot is who i consider to be the best in the game. However i cant swing that much cash. So i was wondering for a first timer to do it on my own vs other options...how much potential power would i be giving up?

I have a friend that was been a machinist and a race engine builder. I have seen his set of ported cylinder heads that were ported but not ported to a gigantic valves, and it also plans on if your going run forced air induction or nitrous, the trouble that I see is the stock LT-1 heads is the thin casting. It dose not take much of a oops or having the bur on a die grinder to ruin a cylinder head, sand paper rolls are more forgiving but they do not remove as much material. Control and speed control are very important. I wish you the best in your adventure.

I know Lloyd Elliot is the best ... but if i do a home port match and polish the runners down to the valves i wonder howmuch less power i would have vs Lloyds.

Lloyd isn't a salesman and his work is good enough that he doesn't have to be. I would call him and get his opinion. He'll shoot you straight.

And on top of the other positives mentioned above about LE, he will stand behind his stuff also...

I know u said the funds are not there, but then again if u trash the heads u have, yr throwing money away (100-200) if I remember right was the core charge with LE.

LTXtech.com is my drug...
