Okay I decided to go carbureted and distributor so I no longer have the PCM ... I want to run everything off of a switch panel. I'm not sure where the relay or wires are located for the fuel pump so I can turn it on ... anybody got any pictures

How do you plan to operate the speedo/odo and the tach? Both driven by the PCM. A4 or M6? A4 also needs the PCM.

If you are running a carb, wouldn't you wanna run a LP pump and just wire it up yourself?

I am running a carb ... and i would be okay running an in-line pump, but where would it fit?
I have aftermarket gauges to monitor stuff and I'll probably use a GPS unit for speed

Sent from my SM-N910T using TapatalkU hardly have an interior... why not just wire up a switch directly and not worry about the factory relay?

There is barely anything OEM left on your car. Get yourself a switch panel at a local swap meet and start wiring things up on toggles with safety in the back of your head. Ie don't burn your car to the ground.

Make a hot wire harness or buy one. Run the signal wire that would normally be to the pcm to a switch on the dash other end of switch to 12v source. Just make sure you have nice clean, dedicated voltage to the pump.

you NEED a fused relay to the pump, whatever pump you decide to run.
DO NOT just run the power thru a switch to pump unless you want to burn the thing down eventually.

Meh, I like the big emergency switch.
But, if you wanna do it right, here ya go
http://www.leashelectronics.com/Single-70amp-relay-module-1HO.htm
I would fuse it closer to what the pump pulls but thats a solid relay setup.
https://www.diyautotune.com/product/6-circuit-switch-panel/
Use it for turning on relays, not powering.
Fans, fuel pump, water pump, anything else?

Just a way we do it in the marine industry. The groung to the pump goes to an oil pressure switch. Grounded with pressure 5 lbs. Engine dies, pump too. Its for safety. Dont want the pump still pumping if engine isnt running.

Cant beat this deal, even comes with switches...
Seriously, even with a 255 it shouldn't be pulling more that 30amps...Stock fuse is only 20a and is fine.
Put a nice little fuse block in

Add some relays

And use a panel like NoMercy posted and you'll be good.

A walbro 255 at 10 psi draws 5-6 amps at 13.5v. You could actually run it off of 14 gauge wire under 18' long. Any switch rated for 10 amps is going to be fine

Still having difficulty here. .... if I'm reading that correctly I should be able to apply 12 volts to the gray wire and that should turn the pump on .... if anybody could help me out I'd really appreciate ithttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170724/3f1c7d1d8d25916d98a2e60b1152642b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170724/eb0e8ab6be7249586c3798f64113e51d.jpg

That gray wire is the same as the one under the hood that's used to test the fuel pump. It is wired directly to the pump and does not run through the relay. The wire you want is the green/white one, a7 on the pcm, and apply 12v to enable the relay.

I no longer have a PCM in the car so all I have is the relay and wires .... do I need to put 12 volts to both pink and the dark green / White

The engine harness is no longer in the car but the body harness still is

If the connectors on the shock tower are still there you can access the relay wiring there. Otherwise, you will need to supply the pink wire with fused +12v power for the fuel pump supply, and the green/white with +12v power from your switch of choice

Maybe I am missing something here, but why do you care at all about factory wiring if you are missing half of it, and are planning on using a switch panel?
Run clean new wiring and sketch a schematic for the car.
