Years ago I did a write up on modifying an LS steering shaft for an LT1 car. Would anyone have any interest in buying modified shafts? They would be modified and ready to bolt on with the correct alignment for an LT1 car. I'm thinking something like $80.00 shipped?

That's not a bad price, if I didn't already have one I'd happily buy one at that rate, iirc I payed right around 50 for mine

Whats the reason/improvement, for swapping the steering shafts? That doesn't sound like a bad price.

There's no U-joint at the bottom of LT1 steering shaft, its a rag joint which is just a rubber disc. It works but degrades over time causing sloppy steering. The LS shaft used U-joints which tighten the steering plus aren't as big which increases header clearance (some have had issues with the rag joint contacting their header tube). The two shafts side by are in the first pic:

Sent from my SM-T217S using TapatalkNormally the lt1 cars have rag joints that get worn and loose and end up with play. The ls mod rplaces that shaft with the ls one that has a u joint instead. Maybe urs was upgraded at some point

Does your 95 have one visible u-joint (top only) or 2 (top and bottom)?
The LT shaft has a u-joint at one end, and a rag joint plus a u-joint, covered by a plastic shield, at the other. The LS shaft has a u-joint on both ends.

Yes, I have 3 of them re-splined just haven't gotten around to putting a tack on them and painting.
