Hi guys: looking for information on what I will need to do to put a 4L80E behind an LT1, I am building another Pickup for myself, it will be a 1999 excab srw k2500. I'll be tossing the blown 6.0 in lite of a LT1/TPI with an excellent Lunati cam, should have 465lbs tq at the flywheel. but I do not know about the trans to LT mate up, any help would be appreciated.

Custom verter to adapt 80e to 153 tooth flexplate.
Chop a couple extra ears off trans housing if you don't have the room.
New cooler lines.
Trans mount and DS setup
Relay and fancy wiring pending what PCM you run

I have an 80e in my 97, I chopped the ears off the trans beat the tunnel in with a BFH to make it fit, made new lines and relocated the Torque arm and shortened drive shaft
Smoke tires not drugs

His is going in a truck that already has an OEM 80E. None of that is required. Why you'd go from an LQ4 to an LT1 is beyond me though.

This. I like the idea of being different, but finding another LQ4 would have been much easier. Will the LT1 be 24x? That may be your best option to make the trans work from a PCM/harness standpoint. There's a vendor on here who could help you with that.

because I HATE THE LS PLATFORM as I have said before, I have 327 in a bowtie embossed on each and every blood cell in my body. Really I do not like the "feel -vibrations" from the LS firing order, they feel like a Ford to me ???? just me I guess. and I have 5 of the little giants in my grubby little hands. at any rate maybe not this one, but I will have an M112 on an LT some day

well I am leaning that way, working on a way to use the BBC reluctor, but may give up and use EFI Conn's 24x reluctor. At any rate y'all should remember that I am my own drummer

so I guess by the end of summer I'll tell y'all what it takes???
reminds me of how I got into rebuilding 4L60E's, 10 tranny shops were asked 1 question, "what went wrong" all 10 replied "just bring it in and we'll fix it", heck I wasn't even looking for a good answer, maybe just a little stroking. lol. in 3 weeks I drove it back to all of the shops and told them what had happened.
