I need something to rig up or buy for my LT1. Is anything available that works on a SBC and our motors? Tired of struggling with finding TDC on #1 every time I move the cam sensor.

Pretty much going to have to make something. I plan on making a small plate that will bolt to the timing cover then tap those holes to line up with an adjustable sbc pointer. Some people have said certain holes actually line up but I've not checked to see if it's true or not

I bought a cheesy adjustable Mr Gasket one from the parts store and gorilla glued it to the opti cap. I used a white zip tie to extend it over the belt and allow belt changes.
I can post pics tomorrow.

I have the gmpp opti block off plate which has a timing marker on it. Not the most accurate and it's off by about 7 degrees but it works.

The hub isn't keyed, so technically it can move a bit and throw the numbers off, unless you have a keyed stroker crank with a keyed balancer.

ATI hub, compstar crank. Keyed.

Here's what I made from this pointer, after doing some trimming I glued it to the opti cap and used a zip tie to extend it. The zip tie gets it closer to the balancer and flexes which still allows the belt to be removed.

are you running an aftermarket damper? i run an ati so i made a pointer that bolts to the lower supercharger bracket. because how low i have it mounted 90* btdc is my true 0* tdc.

Yea, ATI dampener, I gotta get my head under there and see what I can use to get it close. Really only need to find TDC comp stroke once or twice a year but its a pain in the ass without a pointer.
