I took the Camaro out of the garage today, and drove it down to the gas station (nice weather today). The 315's rub like crazy, on one side. No rub at all on the other side. But they're rubbing on the outside fender lip, not the inside. The rear end is centered at the height it sits (I do have an adj. PHB on the way to be safe). It does sit high on the driver side, and low on the passenger side (where it rubs), but I'm told that is completely normal. My wheels are the TTM's, 17x10.5 rear. Tomz says that these are only offered in one offset, so I'm confused as to why mine stick out so far. There's plenty of room behind them, I didn't have to hammer on the inner fender well at all. I've already hammered on my fender lip a bit to see if it changed anything, but no good. I'm also confused as to how people can lower their camaro's and not have tires this wide rub. Any help? I can't drive my Camaro at all thanks to this problem.

I also hammered on the fenders quite a bit, still having problems.

Can someone measure the length of their wheel studs with the disk on? I'm thinking that my problem is my disk brakes. When I went to the auto parts store and bought the new rear rotors, the guy looking them up noticed the stock replacements were stamped rotors. He said that 1 piece cast would be better, so he got me some disks that where the same size as the stamped one, but in 1 piece cast. I'm thinking the hat might be thicker with these, making my wheels stick out. Can't imagine it would be a whole lot though. I did notice that there's aren't much for threads when you put the wheel on.

Normal on mine and I am at stock ride height. Pick up some drag bags and call it a day. Mine are 11 inch wide with 50 mm offset. Mine sit flush with the outside of the fender.

The problem is that I'm setting this thing up for auto-x and road rally, so I think some rear bags would mess up the suspension.

are both sides hitting? do you have an Adjustable PHR?

I would put on that APHB and see how it goes. That SHOULD solve the problem. If that doesn't you may want to look into some spacers.

What tires do you have mounted on the rims? All companies offer different sized tires for the same number rating. IE, if you have a 315 by BF Goodrich that could literally be a 315, where as a Goodyear 315 might be an inch smaller or even larger.

So what could be happening to you is, your running a larger 315 than people who generally run a smaller 315 on those wheels. It's fucking weird I know, but it happens.

Sumi 315s are WAY thinner than any other 315 i have seen.

Yeah, sumi 315's. I ordered an adj. phb from herron, but it isn't here yet, I also ordered their bump stops. They only hit on both sides, but more on the pass. side than the driver side. I've measured many times, and the rear is centered with the stocker. Yesterday I went out and bashed on my fenders, and it sort of helped the problem, but they still rub when I hit a bump.

This is AFTER I bashed on the fenders, you can see where they rub. It's like this on both sides.

You might have to roll the fender lips. There is a tool just for that that you can rent and you basically heat up the fender a little and roll the lip in.

I have 315 nitto DRs and they dont rub anywhere on my car, but Nittos also run small. They are mounted on stock Ws6 rims too. I hear with almost any other 315 on larger rims you need to roll the fender.
Also make sure both insulators are still on the car.

Can someone measure from the ground to the fender well? Mine is 27", and I have 2.5" between the tire and fender. Something tells me that it has lowering springs on it, or the springs are severely worn out.

Look under the springs and make sure both insulators are there and the hose mod wasnt done. It will raise it back up a bit. I would measure for ya but im still at work.

Both insulators are there still. I made sure of all that when I put my trans am rear end in.

Are you kidding me? Sumimotto HTRZ 315/35/17 are about the widest tire in their size.

Nitto 315/35/17's are ~11.6" wide
Sumimotto HTR-Z's are 12.6" wide
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's are 12.3" wide

Alright, the problem has been found. It's sitting 1 inch lower than stock. Either it has cheap lowering springs on it, or the originals have gotten severely worn out.

I run the Sumi 315's and Im lowered and I dont rub the fender lip at all. Thats weird.

It seems the conclusion is soft worn out springs. Some new lowering springs would be stiffer than what I've got, so the rubbing problem might go away with any kind of spring replacement.
