I'm working to convert my 96 LT-1 from the cam driven pump to a Epw. I'm not sure if I have to modify the the timing chain cover?
I'm also not sure what the best way is to modify the timing chain cover ?

Google. It's amazing what you can find.
But, in short, you can leave the timing cover and misc alone. Pull stock MWP off, knock out the impeller and gear, then plug hole. Install new EWP instead of the stock cover and bam. You are done.

Yea you will need to plug the hole the original water pump drive passed through the cover. Some guys use epoxy, some have it welded.

You can leave the drive in there if you're not pulling the timing cover. However, if it's already off then hammer the drive out and plug the hole with the half dollar. It's just another seal to leak.
For the WP housing, press the impeller/shaft/bearing out and plug with a freeze plug. I also put a little bit of JB weld on the timing cover side of the WP to make sure no leaks.

Thank you for the information. It's nice that for now I don't have to pull the timing chain cover to install the EPW. I can do it in the future build. This is my first experience with an ewp. Thank you for the information
