Car is a 95 6 speed. I'm convinced that this is a clutch issue but I could be wrong. Had a shop say it was a transmission issue the second they got in it but I'm not convinced yet. The car is hard to get into any gear. Reverse is almost impossible. When starting from a complete stop it chatters like none other. If you are at a complete stop and put it in gear with the clutch it, it rattles and feels like it wants to inch forward. Once you are moving and can get it into gear, there is no noises or shakes. Everything is dandy. The clutch only has around 1000 miles on it but that doesn't mean anything. Maybe a TOB or pressure plate issue? What do you guys think?

IDK if CPT has the knowledge on manual trans, but I will tag Cahall here to see if he has any input. The man is like a walking tranny.......... book. lol

Glad you added the book to that popo. Haha. And thank you. I really think it's a clutch issue but I'm not the most knowledgable trans guy.

Sounds like the hydraulics I guessing it fine in neutral

What kind of clutch? Do you have an adjustable slave cylinder? Check to make sure clutch pedal is same "height" as brake pedal. I had a similar issue with mine last year. I have a McLeod street twin with adjustable slave and the jam nut came loose. Readjusted it, tightened the jam nut, good as new.

Hydraulics are not adjustable and just a factory replacement clutch.

Get the back tires off the ground and start the car, then try to put into a gear. See if the clutch is fully disengaging. If the tires start spinning with the clutch pedal down, it's not.

Are you able to get into and out of gear with the car off?

What Fastbird said^^, I'm leaning toward hydraulics. Has it always done this or was the clutch replace and then it started?

I'll get it in the air and try. It hasn't always done it. Started about 6 months after the clutch replacement

It seems I am having sort of the same issue. Ive had a ram hd clutch for a few years and went to the track a week ago, then starts the problems. transmission is hard to go in gear while running and especially reverse but not with engine off, pushes the car forward slightly when going in 1st at a stop, shifter rattles like crazy but it is worn out, makes a clunk at tailhousing if leaving hard or low rpm cruising and bumping the gas and sometimes it feels like the gears are still turning when I shift at a cruise but not wot. I just put a new strange 60 and driveshaft with adjustable umi torque arm tunnelmount a few weeks ago.

ws66, I had a similar issue with my old RAM HDX. It was difficult going into every gear, and got worse with time. Reverse was near impossible with the engine running. My issue turned out to be a broken hub spring that had wedged itself between the PP and disc. I'd say your issue is probably also clutch (or possibly hydraulic) related since it's every gear.

Thanks for the advice. The clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder are fairly new. Time to start twisting bolts.

Look at the throw out bearing (TOB) the back part can start to bend were the fork pulls on it. This will not allow the clutch to fully disengage which would cause your symptoms.

Thanks. The first clutch I purchased had a bad tob. A few days after I put it in it started making bearing noise and I could feel it through the pedal. So I pulled it back out and it was warped like you say. I sent it back to ram and they fixed it for free though it did cost $20 to ship and that 6 speed is not fun to pull but this one seems to still have good bearings but more time could tell. thanks for the advice.

Actually now that you say that, it does seem like the clutch does engage lower to the floor than it did.

ws66, that sounds exactly like the issue that i'm having as well. working 2 jobs i haven't had the chance to even touch it since my last post. but i have a feeling the car will be getting a new clutch soon. let me know if you get yours apart and figure out what your issue is. Im having a strong hunch it is a PP issue but shall see. with the holiday weekend coming up i may actually have some time to look into it. hope you get yours figured out.

I changed the fluids in mine and added a bottle of regular lucas oil stabilizer and the more I drive it the easier it is shifting now. Im going to keep driving till I here some noise and do as you did slow4thgen.
