1995 Camaro 6-speed.
Considering a new shifter, my stock shifter is worn. If you see how these are built inside the ball is slightly loose in cup.
What is so wrong with the stock shifter if it is a brand new unit other than a long throw. If you want more pressure for the shift feel Hurst replacement springs can be used.
It just seems like such a simple design what makes the aftermarket shifters that much better?

The positive feel in the aftermarket makes a huge difference... however for me it was mostly about the shorter throw.

My car has a hurst have no complaints (was installed when I purchased the car) If you need a shifter I have the stock one. Pay for shipping and its yours.

Nothing really wrong with the stock shifter but as mentioned, an aftermarket unit will give better feel and shorter throws. My setup is a Hurst aftermarket shifter, Lou's short stick and Hurst leather knob.

I used to have a stock shifter with a WS6store short stick in my old LS car. I have a MGW on my setup now...OMG its amazing. Best $200 I spent on the swap.

I'm running the hurst base that came in my Firehawk with the umi short stick and a pistol grip handle and it feels great . I missed alot of gears with the factory stick , to long of a thro plus the rubber bushing flexed to much .

Maybe my shifter is a factory Hurst job. No part numbers.
