Hey guys, ended up finding a rear main seal cap bolt in my inspection shield. So looks like I'm pulling a tranny. While I'm in there im going to put a new converter in. Suggestions on what size stall to go with? mods are cam, heads ported, intake ported, TB, cai, headers, and 3.73 gears. I have the zz409 from TPIS. Aldo what brand of converter to go with?

I have had a Circle D and FTI, both converters treated me very well.
Current FTI is a 3400 which I feel they nailed perfectly, old Circle D was a 4000 5c verter.
What kind of budget?

I do not know if other companys offer entry level models but I know Edge converters has gotten some good reviews and they offer a converter in your range. I would start calling/searching for reviews.

Running an edge here, I like it. Andre is easy to deal with too
Protorque B29SS is $350 shipped if you buy it from me. I've sold literally hundreds of Protorque converters since 2004 and have never had a failure. The great part about the Protorque is that it performs well up top too where many "budget" converters are still slipping. http://www.protorque.com/street-muscle-torque-converters.html

Im not sure those guys are running a $350 converter....
OP if you're interested in a slightly used (7000 miles) converter, I've got a buddy that's selling his higher end model protorque 3600 for $500. The trans shit the bed and he went to a TH400. I believe it was $850 new. PM me if interested

While this may be true, I would certainly trust a company to build a converter for a moderately modified car if they also build converters for cars making over 3000 HP.
