Alright so my buddy has almost finished my t56 swap and we have to finish the wiring. We don't have the reverse lights hooked up so I need some sort of wiring diagram for that and also for the neutral safety switch As well. Does anyone have a diagram for both of those? instructions would be awesome too. And will the car not run unless the neutral safety switch is connected?

This is for the LT1 and the one I used.

Clutch Switch - extend the yellow and brown 12 gauge wires and attach them to the black clutch switch. This will prevent the car from starting unless the clutch is in. Polarity is not relavent.

Reverse Lights - 16 guage brown and green wire needs to be wired to the reverse light connector. Test this first by connecting them together. If the reverse lights do not turn on, find out what the problem is before continuing. Otherwise, connect them to the reserve light pigtail which plugs into the driver side connector on the trans. Polarity is not relevant.

Hatch - connect the black w/white stripe and orange w/black stripe wires together. This is done so you can use your hatch release.

VSS - Cut the VSS connector from the A4 harness. Wire the new VSS connector in. Polarity is relevant here - the purple wire goes to A.

Reverse Lockout - (I did not hook this up) If you want to wire up the reverse lockout, you will need to tap pin D6 on the PCM (Blue cluster. If you look straight at the connector with the clip on the right, it is the 6th pin up from the bottom right). Connect this to the B side of the reverse lockup solenoid. The other side (A) needs ignition switched 12V - you can use the positive side of your reverse light switch. No one has bothered to hook up the clutch for cruise control. Just don't push the clutch in when the cruise is enabled, use the brake to disable cruise.

CAGS - (Also left this disconnected) find the white wire in the A4 harness (B13. Black connector cluster on PCM, 13th pin up from the bottom right if you are look straight at the connector with the clip on the right) and connect it to the A side of the CAGS solenoid with 12V switched power on the B side.

I used to have these, but I just got rid of my swap paperwork... All the wires you need for these two circuits are on the harness that go to the auto shifter. You'll have to just look to see which colors you have. Mine is a 95, and I had the wiring in your second picture.

IF you need a plug for the reverse lights, I have all the stuff here you need (the plug housing, and pins/seals). Just let me know. I also have the clutch switch connector parts here too. Was going to make pre-wired kits for these but it was going to cost too much for folks.

Also, wiring in the reverse lockout is VERY easy. When I did the swap on Baddass93TA's car, I used one of the existing auto trans harness wires, repinned it into the proper reverse lockout solenoid, and depinned it from the trans connector and voila, ready made lead for the reverse lockout. Tapped the power source into the reverse lights since it has a hot in run lead, and it worked like a champ.

Sahara54 alright so my buddy is stuck. He connected the yellow and brown Wires to the clutch switch and the car is not Cranking at all. Is there so ething that could be wrong that I don't know of?

Just making sure you connected the big brown wire and big yellow together, correct. There's 2 brown wires.
Also check under the dash where you pulled the colum and make sure you have all the plugs hooked back up.

Sahara54 he ended up figuring it out. Don't remember exactly how. But it has a miss from when I quickly slapped the wires back on so it could get towed and feels and I found crossed wires and changed them but it's running pretty ruff still so I have to figure that out tomorrow. But damn is that t56 fun. And for some reason the oil gauge is bo longer working. It keeps going all the way down then up. And when it goes down the check gauges light comes on

Connecting the orange and black for the hatch release is the wrong way to do it. Your hatch will now open while the car is moving. The correct way is to splice the orange wire into the tan (or dk green, I forget) wire going to the E-brake lever switch. That way, the hatch will only open with the E-brake pulled.
