I know this has been beaten to death in the past but since my tranny is going out I am wanoting to swap in a t56. I found a full conversion kit on ebay for $2500 From hawks third gen. Is there any other websites that sell the kits? Or do we have a market on the forum we can buy kits and or a t56 that I don't know about?

Is it a full kit? I know it's easier to convert a f body to a stick.

I say find a donor car to get what u need. Ask Sahara54. Sold him everything he needed from my donor car for 1/3 of that price (im a sucker for the community tho).... Hell i bought the car for 1k...

Mine was on a craigs list ad. Guy bought it for a t56 swap into his belvedere
.. but the wife had other plans. Dont necessarily look for scrap cars... but look for something beat up. Lol. Or a guy whose wife wears the pants. Lol

Looking at their site, I'd say it's overpriced for what it is. You're getting a used tranny in unknown condition, a used clutch and used hydraulics (new for both is strongly recommended), and you don't even get the shifter plate, which is getting very hard to find.

A bit of a drive but better than paying 2500 for a swap kit.

Don't know if you know about this but you can search multiple craigslist cities at once.

If you are willing to travel a little ways or have patients you will find what you need.

Keep an eye on the classifieds here and on LS1 tech. That's how I did mine and it was under 2k.

You could always rent a trailer a go on a road trip to find a car. And as Spartan7 said new clutch and hydraulics is a must. There are some fairly priced options
