Anyone have experience running a blanket on a car that gets daily driven?

Worried about overheating the thing, but, also worried about stock case etc..

AFAIK, there is no way a 80e shield will fit under a 4th gen tunnel.

I dont have an answer to your question about DD'n the blanket... but is there nothing that you can reinforce the tunnel with... some kind of plating, to give you the same protection... just rather than addressing the trans, your addressing the floor for protection.... just a thought, like making it bullet proof or armored.

There are plenty of people running a blanket on the street, I would not do it without an auxiliary cooler though.
Do you have an auxiliary cooler?

Of course, big cooler bypassed the stock heater.

For every story you read of someone running a blanket fine on a DD, you read a story of a guy who has +20-40* increases in running temps.

Just testing the waters on here, I may pick one up for racing and just take it off for the street.

That sounds like it could be a PITA putting on and taking off, depending on how much you race.

IDK when it becomes needed, but I made the mistake of watching a few trans brake explosions. Scurred now.
