Stout runs a 80e, not many people successfully run a 60e with a lot of power.

my buddy has the same trans as you and has been running solid mid 6.60s for a whole year in.a 3500lb car with a 125 shot probably around 20 passes. performabuilt is hit.or miss. he had solid shit junk with them for 2 builds and has been running this current trans for a solid 2 years,
im sure someone or 2 can chime in telling you a 60e will hold the torque of a caterpillar diesel built properly but unless, you spend big money with rossler or rpm your on a gamble.. i don't care who tells you.otherwise . 600whp is a lot. some vendors only have 1 car or 2 backing there claims, definitely.dont bother with them .
there's a reason 90 percent plus of 600 plus rwhp f.bodies run a 80e or th400 or glide.

Sounds like I need to sell it while its still good. Performabuilt says if it breaks they will rebuild it for grand. Then give me a year warranty. Only problem with that is a grand will get me a pretty good th400. So whats the going rate for a built 4l60 and 3800 stall?

And what if it breaks every season...? Just something to think about.
I wouldn't be so quick to ditch it for a TH400 though.

Much raither sell it now while its good. Hate to burn it up and not be worth nothing. Only problem is trying find someone that needs one for a 94.

what do you want to.do.with the car? be a "true" street car like others and take hour long street cruises with overdrive or occasional street cruises with mainly track outings? go with a th400 then, youll pay top.dollar for jakes to build you a 80e and the sad thing is your talking thousandsof dollars difference between an 80e and 400 for a merely overdrive. ..
ive driven welm over 2.hours one way with a th400 to car shows and it's not bad, 3.70 gears and 29"tires you hum along 2500rpm...

Yea you really have to decide how much street driving you're going to be doing. And by street I don't mean in town driving, I'm talking hour long interstate drives. Like Kyle said, a th400, tall tires, and some high gears and you won't even notice that OD is gone. I'm personally thinking about selling off my 80e mainly because for 90% of the driving I do I'll never need the OD
We have the 60/65/70 series behind many cars eclipsing 600 HP. Anything from nitroused LT cars to turbo and blown LS cars. All are surviving very well. Feel free to check out our Customer Cars page. http://cahallperformancetrans.com/Customer_Cars.html

I dont mind loosing od. I rarely drive the car more than 20 to 30 miles at a time. When I bought the built tranny it was my dd. Since then car came along way.

There is a guy at my local track that has been running a Performabulit trans in his 02 Camaro for about three years. The car runs nitrous down into the mid tens with a full weight car.
