Hey guys. I need your help suggesting a tuner I can send my PCM to. I have a 97 Formlula A4. I just added Lpp long tubes, SLP cai, and deleted emissions and back O2 sensors. Who would be the best tuner for this set up? Any members do this? Future plans are 150 shot and 3:73's till I blow something up and full build after. [emoji6]

I do not believe sweet-94z28 has the software for obd2 lt1. I had asked about a month ago for my impala. I bought jet dst for obd2 thru amazon for $331. It works decent. You also have the option of obd1 swapping then only spending about $50 on a cable and definition file.

We do have other members that are tuners... hopefully u can get some other options. I cant promote non sponsors. Not sure if nick does obd2... but if TubbyFormy says that... he prob knows. We also have a tune repository that u can look thru... but ud need the soft ware which is not a big deal....

I do not do OBD2 tuning. I will, however help you swap to OBD1 if that would be an option for you.

This is also a good offer. Esp if ur build becomes more radical in the futue.

We have already covered this... obd1 computer with an lt4km in it... or if no lt4 km...then obd1 knock sensor. Done. JPack can explain how the lt4 km allows it to work.

This also sounds like a good option. What pcm would I need? And who's has the conversion plugs for the pcm? Anyone have an extra knock sensor?

plugs right in man. literally. the knock sensor is the only issue, as to it has a different resistance. so you can switch knock sensors, or solder in a certain resistor across the wires, or in the pcm. or have someone do it.
then you can delete like 40ft of wires underhood, rear o2's, emissions, etc. i like obd1, but for my impala its more of a pain to switch

Nice. I think this is the way I'm going to go. I deleted my emissions already, and rear o2 sensors. What year pcm would be best?94-95? And I'm guessing it would have to be from an A4 because my car is an auto.

Or use an lt4 km and not worry bout the sensor or resistor.

double edged sword. first is finding a lt4 knock module for less than an arm and a leg. second, is depending on what computer you use (early 94's have this problem) certain obd1 pcm's do not like the lt4 module and actually pull MORE timing than they did with a stock module. something with the way the computer works causes it to happen in the early revision computers.
my $.02, id do the knock sensor that way you could actually totally drain the block of the factory dex mud coolant. so its a win win there

Even tho the pcm's have the same number ie 88051, F, B and Y have some differences in the algorithm, such as, if you put an F body pcm into a y body, usually the speedo will be off or not work, as in an F body into a B body the AC will not work, But you can flash the correct tune over the existing one and make it a F, B or Y tune..

Forgot about this. Look at the door sticker if it's still there with the date of manufacture. If it's pre 2/94 then I'd be surprised if it's working properly, unless you have the slightly later revision pcm.my 94 and osies were manufactured 8/93 and 10/93, both had issues with lt4 modules.
I'm curious if the lt4 module trick would work with a b-body obd1 swap. I have jet dst, but no data logging software, I have all the obd1 stuff to datalog.
