My clutch started slipping in my 95 z28. So today i replaced my centerforce with a competition clutch stage 4. Everything went fine. Lowered the car off the lift to find out i had no clutch peddle. Kinda stumped me because i did not unhook slave cylinder hose. I tried bleeding but still no pedal. Wondering if anyone has had similar problems and/or solutions. Any help would be appreciated. Im leaning towards the slave somehow being bad or the clutch fork not being installed right maybe??? Hoping someone can lead me in the right direction

I would pull the slave out with those two bolts and make sure the rod is in the indention on the fork. It could be off the fork and going out into the air when you push the pedal.

Your correct, shouldn't have been any bleeding to do.

Ok ill have to pull the slave off and check it out. might just go buy a new slave and bleed the system and hope that fixes it. Thats the only thing i can think of my problem being. I just had to check with yall to see if i had something wrong. Haha.

Once you pull the slave out, you can stick an extension or a screwdriver in there on the fork and see if you have resistance.

You need to bleed the slave by pushing in the plunger with your hand no other way to get the air out

There is no reason he should have air in the system though.

Sorry just skimmed over the post sounds like the slave rod is not lined up correctly was there some tension when you installed the slave? It should not just slide all the way to the spacer with no tension I had to push it on then use the nuts to draw it to the spacer.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It was easy to remember since I did mine two weeks ago lol.

I wish the best, and hope that is the easy fix it needs to get back on the street. :D

When i put the slave on there was a little tension but i didnt have to use the nuts to draw it up. But as for the clutch fork, should i be able to use an extension to push on it? I did push on it some but i barely got it to move forward. Does that clutch hold that much pressure? (it is a stage 4).Also, i did push the slave rod in and a little fluid came out. So am i thinking right that if fluid came out of the slave, air is going back in, there for, causing me no peddle as much as i tried to bleed it. It should be a sealed system right? No fluid should leak out at all right? Anyways, for some reason all parts stores near me had to order the slave so itll be in tomorrow. I really hope thats my problem. :-/

Yes the clutch will have that much pressure trying to push it in manually. Hydraulic power is a marvelous thing.

Sounds like you found the problem to me. There shouldn't be any fluid coming out from under that boot, or anywhere else for that matter.

I had to order mine too, $23 at Autozone. It comes with good directions on install too, with filling and bleeding. Had my 10-year old son do the pumping and holding.

Fingers are crossed for you!

Haha man thanks! Youve been a great help!! Hopefully ill get it on tomorrow and get it fixed. Its just a weekend car on nice days but its bothering me being broke. Haha. And just so i do it right, just pump the slave rod with the rod pointing up right? While watching the fluid level of course. When do i know if its blead good enough? When i stop seeing air bubbles come up in the master?

If you get the one with an Allen wrench bleed screw:

Tilt it at a 45* angle rod down, fill it with fluid.

The line is held in with a roll pin. I cut through the housing on my old one to pull the pin out, was just faster.

New o-ring, line in the new, new roll pin in.

Insert into bell housing, and tighten bolts. Then fill the reservoir, 5-10 pumps, hold and open bleeder. Repeat until you don't see or hear air coming out of the bleeder screw. Making sure the reservoir stays full and pedal should get firmer.

Not to question your mechanical ability or knowledge, but since the directions don't talk about it, the bleeder screw goes on the top side.
