I don't know what the breaking point is but FWIW I'm still using the stock steel DS and on a good day I run high 10's in the low 120's and lifting the front wheels a bit.

Are u planning on putting sticky tires and racing at the track? If u are... that power level may twist up the aluminum. Its a roll of the dice man. Just like the 10 bolts. Currently I run an aluminum ds and my car makes 602 to the wheels. I dont race it...and it does not have sticky tires on it....

I've seen too many of those aluminum driveshafts twist on that "other" fbody site. I recently went with a Spohn extreme duty DS for $350 (to compliment the QP 9") and should be around your power level when it's all said and done.

I would recommend a driveshaft loop no matter what. You too, Larry :)

I have one. Just not in the car. Custom y pipe is in the way. Need to get a different y pipe first

I just installed a QP 9" in mine. I do plan on a good bit of track time next year with some hoosier drag radials.
