ok guys got my trans rebuilt by cahall with protorque converter which is awesome by the way but when just toodling around town doesnt like to shift unless i am barely on the throttle. car is also modulating between lockup and non lockup on the highway and also tryin to idle between normal and 1200 rpm's. i drove thru a crazy super heavy downpour this spring and thats when all this bizness started. what all yall think

TPS will affect what yours is doing. It's easy to check, though. Either you can find someone with a scanner that can watch data and check the TPS voltage. It should be roughly .5 Volts at closed throttle and go up without any glitches to roughly 4.5 volts at WOT. You can also watch TCC command on the scanner to see if the computer is commanding the converter to lock/unlock.

hey frank this is greg from ia what scanner do u suggest? and thats kinda what i was thinkin because of the idle issue as well. the idle problem was there before the trans problem. by the way a stall converter is a heck of alota fun with 3.73 gears.

it also modulates between lock up and non lock up on the highway. same problem ya think?

Greg, we have a Snap On scanner that we use. It sounds like all the issues may be related.

Yep. I installed my transcooler and replaced and adjusted the tps and all is well. That rebuild is awesome the trans feels so much more solid than it ever did before I also got a New crossmember and it gives some adjustability to the torque arm. Money very well spent.
