Alright, so I shattered my stock tranny mount and I'm looking for a replacement. I've done some reading and I've seen 4 different types, original rubber, polyurethane, prothane, and a 1LE mount. I'm pretty stock, just a cai and I'm about to put my headers/ory on (they are sitting in the garage, just waiting for a free weekend) Was just wondering what everyone would suggest I go with for my mount? I've heard the polyurethane mounts give you a decent amount of vibration, which is a negative in my book, but I want something I'm not going to have to change every couple months. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

I've got the Anchor brand mount from Advance on mine. Its been on now for 6-7 months and its holding up fine. I dont believe they make the 1le mount anymore and I think the only poly mount option is the universal mount you can get from the parts store, there isnt one specific for the lt1. I actually had the energy suspension mount on mine and swapped it out for a regular rubber mount because it had deteriorated inside and had way too much play in it.

I have the correct offset energy polyeurethane mount that doesn't vibrate like if you used the regular gm style poly mount. I can get you the part number tomorrow

3.1142G is the correct mount, install without preload plate, it is not necessary to put the preload plate in on our cars. Also, make sure the mount is facing the right direction

Prothane is a brand name, and their parts are polyurethane.

The vibration complaints with polyurethane seem to come more from automatic owners than manual trans owners.... not sure why. I've had the same ES poly mount, with preload plate, on the car for 16 years, first under a T56, then under the TH400 and now under the TH400 + Gear Vendors O/D, and it's been faultless.

energy did do a redesign a year ago with a slightly different angle in the mounting plate vs trans crossmember plate to compensate for the vibration, its also physically shorter by about a 1/8". when i removed my old poly one that was the standard gm fits all one you could see the difference

Shattered it the first time I got on it after installing lol The energy one is well worth the $28 asking price. Thanks for the advice all!

I just got prothane polyurethane motor mounts and the same for tranny mount. Haven't got to try it out personally on my m6 car, but my buddies did the same on his m6 and it seems to really make the downshifts very smooth, night and day difference. He seems to think its becuse of the mounts.
