Hello everyone,
Wondering if anyone could help me out? I had a tune from lt1pcmtune made for my 93 trans am and she is running good, but i think she needs some adjustments. So i purchased usb ALDL Cable for data-feedback and fine-tuning to send solomon. Purchased from aldlcables and so far I have tried datamaster, TunerPro RT, WinALDL to data-log while driving. I cant get any of them to connect to ecm, I have no idea what to do or try next. Any help would be great.

For TunerPro I had to go back to their site and download the different definition file for a '93.

The 8th one down IIRC.

Have you verified the data wire in the ALDL connector is working? Are you able to enter diagnostic mode and get the DTC 12 "handshake" flashed on the SES light by shorting the pins?

I can flash the codes by using a pin but when I try connecting the aldl cable and using my computer I keep getting no connection. I will try downloading again from site and see what happens. Thanks

Do you have the proper port selected on the program?

You may not have the USB-to-serial port drivers loaded for the cable. Check that with Control panel/device manager/ports. That will also tell you which port to use if the drivers are installed.

I have redownloaded the files and checked the ports and have them set to com4 and it says that the cable is working. But it just says connecting. Not sure if I am missing somthing but I cant figure this thing out.

Alright guys, i have attached screen shots of my settings and files. i downloaded DA2.ads, DA3.xdf files from tunerpro.
http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm
The 8th one down IIRC.
i then uninstalled tunerpro and usb aldl cable drives and reinstalled them and still getting the same issue, not connecting. once i installed the drives for the usb cable, i tested it using ALDL test v230 and it says its working. I am not sure what i am wrong here and really appreciate your guys help.

The diagnostic pin to flash the codes is pin B (jumper to ground on pin A). But the data for the scan function is on pin M, at the far right end below pin A. Check that pin to make sure the pin isn't pushed out or the wire isn't broken. If you can measure the pin M voltage, reference to body ground (or pin A), it should be around 3-6 volts with the ignition on.
Also make sure you reboot the pc after installing any driver. What version are the drivers for the com port?

I have usb aldl drivers 2.10 and will test the volts for the m slot tomorrow, once I get my multi meter back and let you know what happened.
Thanks for the info

I tested the m port and Im only getting1.50 volts,I also did not see any breaks in the wires. Any ideas on why I am not getting 3-6 v?

First, I should have mentioned this is DC volts. If you measured using the DC setting on the meter, continue reading, otherwise repeat the measurement.
That is probably why you can't connect. Most likely, one of the 3 devices (PCM, ABS, and SIR/airbags) on the data bus is dragging the voltage down due to a partial short. The only way to find which one is to unplug them one-at-a-time and see which disconnection restores the voltage to over 3 volts. The ABS module is under the left end of the instrument panel. There are two connectors, one larger than the other. Unplug both, then check the voltage again with the ignition on. If it is still low, leave the ABS module unplugged and unplug the PCM's four connectors. Measure again. If still low, the SRS "DERM" module may be at fault. I think that is behind the glove box. You would have to remove the AIRBAGS fuse and wait 30 minutes before doing anything. I suggest before proceeding, you wait for more opinions on unplugging the DERM, because I have no experience with that in a real car.
