New to the forum and glad to be here, I have a 84 c10 with smoking leaking 305 and 350 turbo. I traded another truck I had for this one because this one came with lt1 and 4l60e from 96 impala ss. It is a complete swap with harness and ecm. I know I will have a ton of questions as I go but here is a pic of truck.

Thanks for the welcome!
I have a few things to figure out if anybody any suggestions.
What headers to use? I am trying to figure out down the road if I plan on adding ported heads and cam if i should get 1 7/8" or 1 5/8"?
Should I buy a new stand alone harness?
What Radiator I should use now stock one or aluminum?
Should I put fuel pump in tank or use the inline one I have from another project?
I know I want to get it up and running stock for now and then start adding performance parts later.

from when i looked id go for the bigger ones, as long as they will seal on the heads, or as long as they are d port or round port.
stand alone harness can be nice, but its pricey. reworking a stock f-body harness isnt too big of a task, just try to get a 94-95 harness, less wires to take out.
stock lt1 radiator can be made to fit and work rather well, but if you have the cash get a fancy aluminum one
fuel pump can go either way, id try to put one in the tank, thats just me though. i think there is a later model tank that has a intank pump that can be swapped in relatively easy. ill have to peruse my old silverado bookmarks

Welcome. I have a 72 C10 with a 383 LTX in it. I used hooker headers for a sbc and a stock fbody rad. and electric fans power, steering i used fbody lines and used compression 28654fittings to adapt to non metric fittings. I used a holley inline pump and reg. I kept mine carb for now.

jay97lt1 (http://ltxtech.com/forums/member.php?1831-jay97lt1) What harness did you use and ecm? Do you have any under hood pics? How did you do your fuel ststem? I am still trying to figure out if I want to use my 96 Impala harness, someone has stripped the tape off of it and there are several wires cut. I need to lay it on the engine and see if I am missing any connectors. Thanks for the help everybody!

I went carburator for now because its my dd and needed it together fast. Im making my harness now out of a 97 z28 harness. My truck will be injected with a T56 hopefully by fall. Ive had some illness that has put a halt to all my wrenching. I used a holley high psi fuel pump inline. You can get a 87 c10 fuel tank some of those were fuel injected just put a walbro pump intake. A 94/95 fbody ecm would work better for your needs.

I thought about going carb also just to get it up and running fast. I would have to buy a intake and carb though.

jay97lt1 (http://ltxtech.com/forums/member.php?1831-jay97lt1) The carb on my truck is junk. What intake did you use on carb swap and what size carb?

What sponser? I used a BP automotive harness for my 5.3 swap in my 51 ford truck. No complaints at all and very helpful.

I have saved up a 1k to do swap. I plan on ordering the 1 3/4'' headers and use 87 tank and walbro pump. Should I try and locate a 94-95 ecm or use my 96? I think I will rework my stock harness if it is not chopped up to bad. I will also try and find a f body radiator and fans. Anything else I need to think about?
