How do these gear patterns look to y'all? I just set up 4.10 gears in my stock 10 bolt. It's my first time setting up gears from start to finish myself. The pinion has a 0.0325" shim and there is 0.0065" to 0.0070" backlash depending on where you check it on the ring gear. Ring gear runout was about 0.001" on the OD after it was installed on the carrier. I installed new pinion bearings with about 20-25 in-lbs of bearing preload. I inspected the bearings on the carrier and they still looked brand new so I decided to just leave them alone for right now, and I can change them in the future.

Overall I think they are pretty good. Everywhere I've seen has said that a 10 bolt should be a little bit towards the toe on the drive side, centered on the coast side. This helps center the pattern during differential deflection under hard acceleration since everything on the 10 bolt is so small.

This is the drive side:

I ended up redoing the gears to try and get the pinion in a little bit deeper to the ring gear. I ended up at a 0.034" Pinion Shim and 0.0070-0.0075" backlash with this gear pattern. I figured I would put up some pictures for reference.

This setup is quieter than the GM 3.42s were! I've only got about 40 miles on the rear end, but all seems good so far. I have varied speeds from 25-55 MPH without spending more than about 2-3 minutes at one certain speed.
