I recently bought a ls1 t56 for $100 dirt cheap and it was complete with bell housing and transmission. Now i know that to fit it in back of a lt1 a lt bell housing and input shaft would be needed. That alone will send me close to $300 and that's on the low side :disagree: aaaaand i dont want to do that if i dont have to. So i wanted to know if anyone has used the ls1 style bellhousing with a spacer that is online to adapt it to bolt to a lt block or if there might be another way to use a t-5 bellhousing with the t56. Im in a 1989 camaro with a lt engine in it and a t-5 behind it thanks.

Kyle switched to an LS T56 to widen his clutch choices. He did a write up on it HERE (http://www.formula383.com/2011/10/05/lt1-to-ls1-t56-conversion/) it might have some info to help you out. Formula383

Depends on which route you want to take. Leave the LS1 bell and input shaft and convert to a push style slave. You'll need the McLeod scallop ring (spacer) and a stock LS1 slave and maybe a shim kit from tick.

The write up will have all the parts. Thanks for the mention Josh!
