Guys I am looking to see what you think about converting sbc heads to lt1 heads. I am only asking because I was building a sbc about 5 years ago and I let my mom sell the car to pay her morgage. I did not let her have the heads for the car so I have a set of sbc heads that were made by cantfiled for jegs a long time ago. They are 220cc intake runners and have 2.10in 1.60 ex with 64cc chambers. They are claimed to flow 304cmf out of the box but, they probley don't flow that good out of the box. I was just wondering what you think about converting the heads for a turbo lt1 or do you think i should sell them and buy something different. do you think it is worth it or not?? Thanks for any input that you have!

Since you already have them I would say its worth it. Last time I checked the going rate was around $300. Make sure you find a shop that is familiar with the conversion though.

Do the intake manifold bolts line up? 300 bucks is cheap

No they don't... you would have to get the intake or heads modified to fit.
There was a company (based out of Texas I believe) that was pretty well versed in the conversion, I'll see if I can find them again. Honestly if you are going to have the heads converted you should consider running a standard SBC efi intake like an edelbrock victor or Vic Jr.

Back in the day(70's to late 80's) there was a company called BROWNFIELD they made aluminum heads and sold out to CANFIELD which they continued to produce these sweet heads. You definitly have a very nice set of heads my friend.
I do suggest having them gone through to be sure all parts are up to snuff, mod them to fit an Lt1 383+

I have been sitting on these heads for years. I was in the garage and seen them and it got me wondering if they could be converted.

I like the idea of the super victor too.

Mike fixed a set of aluminum lt1 for me that I bought from a guy that didn't check clearances on and jammed a broken valve sideways in the head. He did an amazing job. Very reasonable and knowledgeable. He came highly recommended to me and I highly recommend him. He went above and beyond for me
