That is WAY too much timing. 35-37* is more normal depending on the setup (for Naturally Aspirated engines anyways). Just to be sure, are you looking in the 95 and 100 kPa categories at high RPM levels? If you want to dial in your tune, I can help you out with that. Depending on what your setup is, I can usually get them pretty close from the get-go.

my car is a 97 z28 m6, headers, ory, spintech 3in exhaust,CAI, stock injectors(have 30# just haven't installed), 340 fuel pump, 58mm throttle body, xfi292 cam, 1.6rr, and the tune was done by lttuner.com. obd1 swap to. and stock bottom end. will be adding juice soon but I have msd timing control to take car of that.

Hmm. The timing is a little low not the high rpm end, but the timing in the low rpm ranges is very high and would cause an issue. If you want, attach your tune and I'll see if there are any other issues.

The 30* is low for that KPA and the 33* in the 100 KPA area is stock...You sure it is actual detonation? and not rockers, or an exhaust leak? It shouldnt be clattering with only 33*. Try some race fuel and see if it is possibly just false knock or it could be in the burst knock tables if it only comes in for a second or so..

My response above was off of my phone and auto-correct really made that hard to understand.
Can you post your tune file on here or could you email it to me? Moe is right that 33* is stock in the 100 kPa range at high RPM, but I don't think that you should have 30.5* of timing at 100 kPa at say 1200 RPM or even at 2000 RPM. Without knowing the RPM's in your post, it's hard to tell what you are experiencing.
Also, I agree, check your rocker adjustment, check for exhaust leaks, and worst case add some UNLEADED race fuel. Leaded race fuel is known to trash O2 sensors. You could also be experiencing an ignition issue like a misfire. On my 1994 Z28 I had, when the ignition coil went out, the engine would break up at the top end (above 4000 RPM) and sounded like knocking.

How do I post the file? I also data logged it. Not very good log cus it was spinning.

Let me know what info u need. I added 30#injectors today and tuned a lil for them and my timing knock is gone. At 6250 rpm with the stock injectors the duty cycle was 98.5 and 101.5

If the knock is gone now, then you must of been running super lean, what do the plugs look like. Adjust your A/F and start adding timing. If you don't have a wide band and "Know" how to read plugs, then adjust accordingly... The Key is Reading your plugs...
