Anyone run a t handle or a pistol grip style shift knob? Both of my camaros have the ball style and I personally would prefer the t handle. But I've seen the pistol grips but not sure how they would feel for a t56 haha

I've got a pistol grip in mine in conjunction with a short shifter stick and I love it. Perfect fit and feel for what I like. I don't have anymore issues with my hand sliding off the stock shift knob anymore cuz I keep at least 2-3 fingers wrapped around the pistol grip at all times, so no missed shifts. :D

I picked up one of those Hurst t-handles once, but I didn't like the angle or feel of the handle. But for $20 it wasn't much of a loss.

I like the feel of them every time I've driven a auto mustang I like the shifter it's kinda like a t handle never been in a car with a pistol grip so I'm unsure of those

One of the best things I ever did for my car plus my line lock is right there and it works great for staging the car

I personally have only used ball handles. I like the shortest throw possible. 26190

I do most of my shifting by using as much pressure on my pinky and ring finger as possible so the force applied is as close to the shift stick as possible to keep the throws just as short as a ball shifter. casey20000007's car has a short stick and ball shifter and it felt kinda weird to me. Just my personal opinion though.

Factory hurst shift knob for me. Feels great in the hand, looks nice, and hey, I'm still running a factory hurst shifter too (with a short stick on it).

Thanks for the replys I like the ball shifter just want something different. My daily has a short shifter that was there when I got it so I got so use to it , and when I got this other one with out the short throw it felt off but lucky I bought a pro 5.0 short throw off of my buddy before I knew about my car havin one so now all I need is a better shift knob lol

Hurst shifter and short stick here.

I do like the looks of that black piston grip. Just looks like it would be an odd feel for a DD.

It feels perfectly natural to me, and I DD mine (except in snow/ice lol). I will say it kinda sucks in extreme heat/cold, as it will get either scalding hot or freezing cold with the air outside, but ignoring that fact, it's great year round and I actually like it in winter, since I can still get a solid grip on it even with big ass winter gloves on. It was kinda awkward to use with gloves on back before I put the pistol grip in mine, as I just couldn't get a great grip on the stock shift knob for pulling the even gears.

I shift faster than the trans wants me to with the stock shifter so I just left it alone. That black pistol grip look killer though!
