okay i need some help and some thoughts and opinions. i have a set of pace setter LT headers with a ORY and a slp LM1 exhaust, but i have a chance to but a set of mac shorties and the y pipe for 200.
what are your opinions with both sets what are the gains power wise? and what are the gains usability wise? along with any other comments you have for me. i have a cut out that i want to put in before the slp LM1 exhaust also.
Finally. Shut out to Frank Cahall at Cahall Performance Transmission in delaware, man is a machine rebuilt my tranny in 5 days. excellent service

I had MAC's on my purple car when I bought it. They had the best plug access I've ever seen. All eight no problem from the top.
Side by side:
Mac -- Pacesetter
Primary diameter: 1 5/8" -- 1 3/4"
Y-Pipe -- 2 1/2" -- 3" (I think)
MAC's have stock like ground clearance. Pacesetters do not. Along this, MAC's don't have fitment issues that the Pacesetter's do either (floor pan clearance, drivers side for the long tubes).
Power: MAC's are PERFECT for bolt on, Cam only, and mild head/cam packages. You start stepping up to larger setups, you need to start thinking long tubes anyways.
MAC's will make it through emissions. Pacesetters will not.

Why go through the work if you already have long tubes? I wouldn't waste the time or money.

leave the longtubes on if you already have them. i dont see the point in removing them for mids. if you hate the noise ditch the loudmouth, you really dont need a cutout before the lm1, it would sound just about the same.
