I was wondering what others think... If I snagged the seals when installing the pump. Would that possibly efect 1st and reverse? Seems like a hydraulic leak. Slips when warm but now that its cold it works until gets heat in the fluid? 2nd and 3rd work always. No slipping when its sat outside in the 35 degree weather.

This sounds more like an actual pump or converter issue. Reverse in a 4L60E use the reverse input clutch and the low/reverse clutch. The reverse input drum uses the 2 teflon seals on the outside of the pump stator. 1st gear uses the forward clutch, which feeds through the input shaft, using the teflon seals that seal on the inside of the pump stator. There's not a real big chance you've damaged both. You might want to put a pressure guage on it. I also hate to ask the obvious, but are you certain it's full of fluid? What exactly did you do to the transmission?

It was rebuilt. Replaced everything and rebuit the pump. Also different spring in the pump that the kit came with to use. Shift kit.
It just Suprised me when i moved it in the cold weather and it moved in 1st and reverse perfectly. Burping the throttle would spin the tires. When it was hot out, i dont think if i floored it it would spin.
The cold fluid working kinda made me think it has to be hydraulic. Only my 2nd trany rebuilt, so I'm still learning.

Oh im sure its full. Maybe tad over.
Converter worked perfect before being put on the trany. In other car. Putting a pleasure guage would be a pain being in a vette, basically have to pull the trany to get to the port.

How was the forward clutch air check when you built it? Did you air check the forward and reverse drum through the pump? Low/reverse air check OK? Pump stator bushings in good shapre? Any grooves worn inside the stator? reverse input drum bushings good? Any grovves worn in the ring sealing area of the drum? Did you change all the lip seals, including the low/reverse? All clutch clearances came up OK?
