It works good for me. You just need to set up the com port correctly if I remember right.

The program won't even open to set up the port.

you might need to run it in compatibility mode. worst case you may need to setup a virtual pc in xp.

Tried compatibility mode as an admin. Still won't work. I sent them and e-mail so we will see what they say. Thanks thus far, guys.

I think the error message is telling you what you need to do. Go out and google "COMCTL32.OCX" and find where you can download it, then install it.

http://www.ocxdump.com/download-ocx-files_new.php/ocxfiles/C/COMCTL32.OCX/6.00.8105/download.html

This KB from Microsoft talks about how to register an OCX file.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/146219

Basically, go to the download link above and download the file. Move it to your C:\Windows\System32\ folder and then open up a command prompt and run the regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\COMCTL32.OCX command to register the file.

I was wondering if anyone made any headway on this. I tried the steps "meissen" suggested, but I have no System32 folder.

Im having the exact same issue, and my old 32 bit laptop just bit the dust, so I am on a 64 bit windows 8.1 computer right now and am trying to make it work. I sent an email to tunercat, maybe they can help me too.
