I was browsing another post and it reminded me of a car that was in gm high tech magazine years ago it was a supercharged LT1 car with dominion 32 valve heads if I remember it made over 900 hp what happened to the car and did it ever hit a 1000 hp?

Not impressed:
Although the Bird is still undergoing additional tuning in order to reach the owner's goal, the potential to crack 1,000 rwhp is there, especially after smoking the rollers to the tune of 807.6 rwhp and 760.4 lb-ft of torque at only 13 psi of boost on 112-octane Sunoco racing fuel.
Ok, at 13 PSI, made 807 and 760 with 112 racing fuel. The adage of "Bigger is better" is NOT applying here. D1X blower, huge heads, HUGE solid roller cam. That's sad. That should already EASILY be a 1K RWHP car. My 377 CID motor in my old vette was making 760/760 at 14 psi on 93 octane with a baby hydraulic roller (207/220 .570 lift). There's something......a lot of something.....wrong with that cars setup. And who the hell puts freaking APC seats in a build of that magnitude? Guess he didn't have much scratch left over. Still a nice car for all the knocking I'm doing. But it could be so much more.
Oh, and did anyone notice the crank trigger? No opti! Blasphemy!
On the flip side, I think this is the first truly verifiable running and tuned Dominion headed LTx out there. To my knowledge, one guy was very close to running (I think his old SN was "The Big Show" or something like that), but the custom intake was stolen and that shit canned everything. I myself nearly bought a set of these heads back in 2004, but after researching the added costs (custom intake manifold, custom headers, custom valvetrain, LOTS of cam profile trial and error, all for a completely unproven setup) I decided against it.

Yeah I suppose you make a good point the power level is a bit low for what all is there the guy spent tons of cash on the thing but I still think it's cool even if I had the cash to pull this off I wouldn't do it but I'd still like to see it in person and watch it run its vary interesting to me .

Hence my last part of the statement. It's a nice car, the time and effort is in it, but it was simply specced out wrong. I think with some tweaks and changes he's going to have no problem seeing 1K horsepower.

besides the fact that ARAO has been sued etc by multiple people for stealing money, not working on their cars, and sending them complete opposite parts....
i think it was a damn cool idea

The last remaining set of these LT1 heads are at Bret Bauers place AFAIK. Local NJ guy lost em to him.

Bobby Simpson, local guy. He hasn't had an LT1 car since, him and his brother owned a bunch of them through the years.

There was also a guy a cz28.com that had a set that was going in a Ford Maverick of all things. I forgot his SN, although shouldn't be hard to find as he was always in the advanced section. Bret Baur has several sets of these heads laying around. From what he said, he was a fan of the design but not the rocker setup. These heads have tons of potential but like others said would require lots of custom parts to go with it.

Sounds like the set that "Unstable Bob" Gable sent to Bret at least 10 years ago. Wasn't ware they were "lost". Somewhere I've got a bunch of pictures I took of them in Bob's basement.

Guess that settles that. Was wondering if UB ever got his running.

I've sort of lost touch with Bob. My work keeps me from doing much of anything, even driving my car. I know Bob's wife passed away from cancer last year, and I feel really bad that I didn't get in touch with him.

He sold his AMX which was a big shocker but times were tough. I speak to him every now and again. He seems to be doing better which is good. I'm building a set of lights for his truck so I will have to ask for the backstory on the heads. I took the trip with him years ago to Bret's shop and saw them first hand. There was some major work being done to them which I doubt was ever finished.
