Why is it (so I have been told) to do burnouts with traction control on?

Just curious, after putting traction control in my 97 camaro someone told me not to attempt it with the traction control on. Only thing I see it does is it kicks my foot up off the floor.

Is there a way to also make the traction control to default off when car is started instead of coming on when car is started. I really hate always having to shut it off.

SLP used to have a reverse logic switch you plugged in that would make it so you had to turn it on vs turn it off.

Believe it pulls timing and it prob annoys the hell out of your ABS block trying to stop a "spin"

Why on earth would you TRY to do a burnout with traction control on?

I don't think they were worried about breaking parts... but it's just common sense that you shouldn't try to do a burnout with a system engaged whose purpose is to prevent wheel slip.
