Anyone have any experience with 3.90 gears in the GM 10 bolt?

Not a lot on the internet about F-Body 3.90 performance or reliability. I'm looking at the motive set. My car is a bolt on 95 Z28 A4 with 3.23 gears right now.

I see little to no track time and the car is not a Daily Driver, so i don't care about noise or gas mileage. Considering these over 3.73 due to my plans for heads and cam upgrades next year.

Any thoughts or complaints?? Thanks.

I ran 4.10s (coulda been 4.11s, can't remember…) LOVED 'em… NO DOWNSIDE.

(I used to think the fuel economy was a downside until I started running these 5.13s. Cost me $120 in fuel to go 250 miles round trip. Got home with 5/8ths of a tank.)

So from this perspective I now conclude: NO DOWNSIDE… you will never ONCE regret it. Until the 10 bolt detonates.. then you'll regret it. But that's just the right of passage that we must ALL sail through. FWIW: I sailed it three times in the ten bolt, before I bit the bullet and moved it on up to the D-60.

DO IT!

DO IT!

DO IT!

Was 1st gear usable with 4.10's? At the moment, i'll be running a 26" tall tire.
