Really considering it. I hear they hold decent power stock. I can get one at a pic-a-part for $100, a decent rebuild kit for $200. All I'd need is a stall (lockup doesn't matter), a big ass cooler, and a shifter. I'd get a brake and rmvb later, found a wiring schematic for full manual control.

I'd also be about $1300 ahead after I sell my trans/clutch, etc. And I could keep my MTs, have OD unlike a 400 and DOMINATE TRUE STREET! !! MUAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Opinions? Possibly advice from those who have 80s?

I think its tunercat that has an option to reverse the polarity of the shift solenoid needed to allow pcm control. When we were on the true street cruise I was turning 3k at 55. I'm on board for a 80e as soon as I address the suspension on my car

I'm 24x, I hear I can fully control it. Can't remember who did it tho.

Ouch 3k at 55 is up there. This thing makes enough torque I never have to shift above 2100. I hate revving it any higher than I have to lol. I have the numericallt lowest geat for the S60 otherwise I'd just get a 3.0x and Larry H's 400

Yes, segment swap and run it as a true 80e, simple. You will need to wire in an ISS and rearrange some of the 60e harness, but its very easy. S60 lowest gear set is 3.54 which is still very doable in 4th and cruising at 75mph. My 2.73 rear cruises at 2k rpm at 75mph

Yes, I am running my stocker. You will need to "edit" the bracket where it attaches to the trans pan as the 80e pattern is wider than 60e.

Other than that, I love mine, Tbrake is fun.

True Street will be a nice fight if we both get there.

I hate realizing my T56 isn't cuttin it lol. Good deal on the stock shifter, I like my interior simple. Wonder if I can segment swap a custom HPTuner 3bar SD OS. Hmmmmm. If not ill run it manually. Who makes a Tbrake for em that'll work well? Also, is yours built?

True street is gonna be a good fight next year!

I run a 80e with a 3bar tune, like I said, other than getting the shift points down (its time consuming if your not on a dyno) its simple. Its a drop down menu in HPtuners.

I have a built Jakes unit, I think he stopped selling his T brake kits cause stupid people messed up installs etc. Rossler may sell one.

Hmmmmmm. Forgot you were 24x. Have you driben it in boost yet? We may need to talk. I keep having this stuoid KR issue.

I was gonna rebuild mine. Done 2-3 c6s and a th400. Wonder how well it'd work in stock rebuild with some little add ons.

I would think you would be happier with the 80 at the track and still have good street manners to boot. Plus you won't have a hard time selling your T56 setup.

Yea I love my t56 but street racing isn't my thing as much anymore. I'd like to get to the track and see what it'll really do. I'm just not sure what to ask on an RPM faceplated lvl5 trans. Cost me $4k for the build+bellhousing!! Not worth near that but idk what it'd even go for. I could '80 this car with a stock converter from the JY for $500 lol

I have a triple disk FTI 'verter in mine for all the (hopefully) dyno numbers and traps.

I have seen a few psi but its got a tiny WG spring and no max boost tune yet. Prob next week sometime.

Ryan Stout

Nice, Ive been pricing converters. FTI seems like a decent buy.

Every time I enter PE I get KR. I know its PE because if I set it to trigger at 25%, it does it at 25%. If I set it at 70%, it does it at 70% can't figure it out.

Ryan.....one word. Sellout!

I too fully realize that I could really maximize my cars potential with an auto......but rowing around on the streets is too much fun. I do wonder what a on boost transbrake launch would feel like though......

Nah. Waiting to see if anyone else local wants somethin from pull a part. Figured I'd make a day of it. May snag some 5.3s to resell. Theyre $200/ea lol. Sell for $350, pays for trans and they still get a good deal.
