How many miles do you have on it? I'm talking about the square top throwout bearing with the green seal.

My car just ate another stock replacement throwout bearing (the circular one). The first one went exactly 1 year after I installed an OEM type clutch kit. I was given another TOB for free from the supplier and I installed it without any issues last June. Everything was fine until last week when the replacement TOB broke in the same exact way, 14 months after they replaced it. The flange that the clutch fork pulls on began to tear apart from the bearing itself for the second time.

I've been hearing a lot about the Vette throwout bearing for the ZF 94-96 and how it's supposed to be a bit beefier. Unfortunately, a quick search yielded a few pictures of broken square top bearings so now I'm not sure what I should get and where I should get it from (warranty available???).

Thanks.

I got mine from Spec, they started offering it as the standard with their clutch kits. Here are some comparison pics of the old standard TOB from Spec and the newer square top style:

As you can see the square top TOB is thicker than the standard TOB. We are a Spec dealer, I'd be happy to get you a price if you want. I'll just need your zip for shipping or you can buy direct from Spec.

I talked to someone from Spec not too long ago about the TOB they have listed for $86 and I was told it was the round one, not the square top. Obviously, the Vette one is preferred.

I'm located in 19444, PM me.

I would also like some info on purchasing the beefier TOB. 86 dollars seems like a lot though. I am in 96701
