I have a 97 Z28, and last night i relocated the battery to the trunk. Everything seems to be working the way it should be except for the ABS INOP light is on now. I don't know if you have to drive it a certain amount of time for the ABS to recalibrate itself after having the battery out for an extended period or not but i've only had a chance to drive it across town so far.
The question i have is if it doesn't have to recalibrate then what could be causing it? Possibly a bad ground somewhere?
Thanks
Chris

Id suspect a bad ground. You're just running a power cable back to the front right? Abs pumps/hydraulics use some good amperage and with the battery relocated you may have induced a high resistance concern.

Yeah i ran 2-gauge wire all the way back to the trunk from the starter. Then I have a wire from the alternator to the old power block on the fender well and another wire from the starter to that power block.
I have the battery grounded in the back, but i had to remove the ground from the passanger side of the block to the battery so i'm thinking i might run that ground back up to the top of the wheel well and see if that helps things.

I added another ground from the motor to the ground wires right above the positive power block on the passanger fender well and that seems to have fixed the ABS light issues. I do have one remaining issue though and that's that sometimes when starting the car now, it will click multiple times almost like the battery is dead. I stop cranking and try and crank it again and it will start right up. I know this could be a possible battery issue but i'm thinking i need to run a ground from the battery up to the motor maybe?
Anyone else ever had this issue?

I had a similar issue when I first relocated my battery. In fact, I had a circuit breaker installed and it kept tripping. Ended up running a ground cable to the transmission and everything was good afterward.

You ran it to the transmission from where? The battery?

Yep. Ran it from the negative post on the battery to the tailshaft. That's as far as the cable I had on hand would reach. Had it been longer, I probably would have run it further up. Works great though.

Alright I'll have to drill me another whole in the trunk then for the ground to go through. I mounted the battery were the spare tire goes.
I'll probably run it up to the engine block and just put it on the same stud that I used to ground the stuff up front.

Before you go cutting another hole and running new wire read over post #6 http://ltxtech.com/forums/showthread.php?15721-Clicking-after-battery-relocation&highlight=clicking
