Well I've learned quite a bit this summer. I started from scratch and been chatting with someone who has been kind of enough to answer question whenever I have had some. And I was a bit confused on a couple of things and/or misinformed. So far I have been tuning in Open Loop, And that uses the Open loop table and MAF table. Sensors used are the MAP, MAF, CLT, and the IAT sensors. What I have done is figured out the running temp of the coolant. Then in the Open Loop table I find the closest degree C possibly could be two rows for that. For in the 20 KPa column in the 56 degree I have to have 13 in that particular in order for it to idle in the 15's when cold started. Any lower and it is in the 13's afr any higher its in the 19-20's. But when up to temp I figure I was in the 80 degree row and had 14.4 in the 20 KPa column. Then from 25-80 KPa I have it set to 16.2 and 12.5 for 85-100 KPa. Now what I did is went into the MAF table and did some datalogging to find at what air volume I had at what rpms and loads while driving around. I added/or subtracted to get the AFR's I wanted to see in the Open Loop table for the 80 degree row for cruise, did most of my data logging on interstate at 85. Now my theory is to as weather permits to fill in the varies other areas as the weather cools off. For the warmer ones I run the coolant temp up a bit and see what the wideband see's before the coolant cools off, and adjust. Now something to make sure of is injector offset/voltage! We figure I have Bosch III I got them from Summit and were Holley 50 lb'ers What we did was started with Bosch offsets and added voltage across the board till it started to run rich again, and backed off 0.025 volts. How we came to this is that no matter what we did.....it always smelled rich. I ended up adding 0.275 to the whole table. And it cleared right up, idles and cruises clean now. Just from that adjustment I gained 5 mpg. Went from 15 mpg to 20 just by that alone. Was talking to Martin from other site and he said I could try 16-18 afr's for idle and cruise. Kind of play it by ear on coolant temps, how it runs and sounds. I currently have it in the 16's and I'm in the 24 mpg range on the interstate. Haven't tried leaning it out anymore yet. The reason I started in Open Loop cause I don't trust the O2's I have in it and don't have a hoist to put it on to change them out. Since of my new findings I plan to go back and rework SD tune with the new info and knowledge. By the way sorry no new paragraphs....keyboard not allowing to make new paragraphs for some odd reason. But hope this helps someone out.
