Im workin on tuning my buddies 94 z28 its a cc306 cam only bolt on car. My question id when im trying to tune it at WOT itll read like 200 to 240 g per second on the mass air and as soon as it turns 5000 rpm it'll read somewhere in the 400 g per second range and obviously the car will miss and throw a fit.
Im just wondering if any one else has had these issues. I wouldn't call me the best tuner ever but I do tune LT and LS cars pretty regularly for a lil cash I just have never seen a car do this

Id say the maf is shot. While the engine is running at idle, while data logging, try wiggling the wires and see if any fluctuation pops up. You can also lightly tap on the body of the sensor to see if it fluctuates any. If you need a maf I've got a few.
I want to say that when we were running a maf, at wot and around 5500 it was reporting a little over 300 grams/second. But don't hold me to that.

My car is 292 grams per second. Bad part is we put a new maf on it yesterday. Same thing...

Does it transition smoothly to 400 or does it jump? Id say if you changed the maf, look into the wiring. That pigtail is usually pulled "taut like a tiger" and the wires break inside the insulation.

Straight jump from 240 to 400 at 5000 rpm

Issue fixed buddy of mine have the maf harness and tach wire for msd box ran together to close to each other causing extra noise at high rpm
