ok guys...countless hours reading post from up to 7 years ago...head is spinning..lol. i'd appreciate any advice on what i plan on doing.

here's my plan, tell me if i'm doing it right. 94 383 vortech/aftercooled, maf is on the blow side near throttle body. i plan on leaving the stock pcv valve (driver side intake) intact. on the tube from passenger valve cover to throttle body, i plan on running a hose from that valve cover fitting to an oil/air separator (husky one from home depot #401910) and from the separator to the intake/suck side of the vortech intake pipe. i will also plug the hole on the throttle body that was connected to the tube from passenger side valve cover.

i know not the most efficient setup, but hoping it would work for the time being to relieve some crankcase pressure under boost. another question i was wondering about, since it is maf metered air and not running a speed density tune, would the tube running from the passenger side valve cover >> separator >> blower intake suck side tubing matter since the air was already "measured", i would be re-introducing metered air back in front of the maf, would that really affect anything(if that makes sense)?

appreciate it guys...thanks!!

You're on the right track. Here's what I"d change.

Run a tube off of the PCV to the blower inlet tube. This way, should the PCV fail, you won't be pushing boost into the crankcase. Instead of the oil/water separator, for around $60 you can get an Allstar Performance vented breather tank. I'd run that because it's filtered, and vented to atmosphere. If you're running a significant amount of boost, you might want to run breathers off of both valve covers.

Appreciate the quick response!! I'll eventually get a more elaborate setup over the winter, but do you think that the way I plan on running it, it work out fine? I already have this stuff in the garage and plan on throwing it on tomorrow.

If you wanna do it that way, I would ditch the husky rig and run a real catch can for pull through vacuum.

Ive seen the husky setup work on an na car, and spent a lot of time actually adding one on each side of mine to end up ditching the whole setup and ordering a header evac kit from jegs. Summit doesn't have it. Granted its a little more work and you can't have it tomorrow, but it works great and its only like $30...

Making you silky smooth...

ty guys..going the garage parts route it seems till I get more time for better set-up. Funny thing is, this is the only site out of 4 that actually gave me advice...!!!! The only other comment on the other sites was about my non capitalization..lol

thank you again..appreciate it

What is the best setup for the PCV system when you're not running boost?

I just posted a question about this on a new thread I started.
