View Full Version : stock lt1 with cam and turbo only finally went 9's!!

hey guys, new here, a few guys told me about this place.

like the title says ive got a 97 z28 with a VERY budget friendly setup going 9's @ 7000ft altitude on a 9" slick

stock bottom end lt1 stock heads (no porting) 220 230 114 off the shelf cam, single plane, 116 fuel and 80mm on 19.5 psi, 3700 pounds went 9.95, 9.93 then 9.85.

this is not maxed, still have about 2-3 psi left on the table, car it tapped rev limiter in 3rd before the 660' i have to lift and feather throttle to get the rest of the way, best mph was 137.

3.25 gears, 3500 tci converter (junk!!) 9" rear.

28x9" slick.

Wow. That's alot of boost for a stock bottom end. Must be throwing a ton a fuel at it happy and front exit exhaust makes me feel funny in private places.

Nor an Ls base motor..... that's impossible! Lt1s are dinosours..(roll eyes)

im not sure, so far so good but there will come a point in time where she just wont take it anymore, ill just keep turning it up slowly until that time comes, then ill be throwing in my 385 incher. then the battle for 7's begin
