Divided will let each bank have the longest time with not merged flow before the wheel. Also allows you to run a spool valve and get a way to big turbo to light off quicker.
Personally I think for the SBC V8 street car realm, divided is not really needed, a 383 will spool a non divided T4 turbo no problem.

I had no idea what was being asked. Thank You shownomercy.

Divided is used a lot on stuff like inline 6 2JZ's in surpas with big turbos running a spool valve set up.
Dont really know of any V8 guys running one. I have a divided housing and am not worried at all about spool. Some guys take the housing in to have the divided knife cut to cut down on turbulence but I'm not convinced it helps anything really.
So it shouldn't really be a big deal if I run a Divided t6 on and my current crossover with an open t6 flange? This will be on a 396. Reason I'm asking is because I'm trading my gt47-88 with a non divided .96 a/r t6 for a Comp 91mm billet wheel ball bearing turbo with a divided 1.32 a/r t6.

Shouldn't hurt anything , the A/R will make a difference but not the divided housing.

Knife edge the housing divider, or chop off the manifold flange and run a divided T6.
Depending on how your manifolds/headers are set up, the divided will be better than undivided at being more efficient in its use of exhaust pulses to get the wheel spinning, but obviously a open housing will have less restriction. So again, its really a moot point on a larger SBC cause you do not need the help to spool up a turbo.
Divided can also allow you to run dual wastegates, one per side to really control boost very well.
Sweet! thanks for the info!
