So I killed my tach drier in my PCM (24x, 0411 PCM). Accidentally gave my tack a +12v shock. Tach no work. Bought a new PCM on ebay, company flashed my new PCM with my old PCM's VIN. HPTuners won't reflash my tune on my new PCM still. They want me to buy 2 more credits for the PCM, then I need 2 more for my 3bar SD tune ($200 total). Anyone have any ideas around this? No, I am NOT trying to cheat the system, the old PCM will be thrown away so don't say I'm trying to tune 2 cars on the same credits. I emailed em and they pretty well told me I'm screwed. I know they have to cover their ass, but this HAS to happen to people sometime.
So, anybody know how to resolder in a new tach driver or possibly whatever PROM that holds my tune in? (Yes I know its not a prom, but thats all I can come up with).

Maybe contact Madz28 I know he does PCM repairs when they get damaged during flashing.
But otherwise all you are missing is the tach output to the speedometer/shift light and the car runs fine?

Yeah thats all. I thought about getting a tach adapter, but it was the same price as a new PCM. Figured I'd do it "right", then I emailed HPT and they told me whats up.
It runs great, the PCM knows what RPM its at, it logs on HPT just fine, just no output to the gauges.

Oh carp your 24x...... I was going to say I know the white wire at the pcm and one of the ignition circuits both had 60 or so hertz at idle when I was putting in my remote start.
What about using an areoforce gauge? What if you sent both pcm to hp tuners. There has to be a way around this

So far all I can do is buy more credits and they'll comp me the 3bar OS change. So now it's $100 *sigh*. Still sucks!!

For$500 I'd let you do it in pennies.

Back up top. Bought a PCM and it still does it. Gonna start tracing wires tonight or tomorrow. Shit. Any ideas anyone?

no RPM on the instrument cluster, you try a different cluster?

Neither cluster or aftermarket worked. I messed with it last night for a while. I homed the wire from the blue connector at the pass kick panel to the IC. It was good, but it also read 8ohms to ground. I ran a new wire from the connector to my aftermarket tach and it was fine. I'm guessing I pinched it somewhere and it was grounded out. Should've known since I just had my dash out.
Tho it still bounces around when cranking.
