Im on a budget so I started looking for already tuned ecm's for sale and I found a guy on the other site who had one out of his 95 trans am for $60 bucks.. ( My car is a 95 Camaro z28, M6, stock gears, Lt Headers, LE 224/226 Cam, with Stock heads.) will the tune for his car work okay in mine here is what he told me was done "the tune was for a 355 lt1 with gm 847 cam, 31 lb injectors, 4l60e with 3600 stall, 373 gears, and speed density tune" I asked if it would even work for me since my car is an M6 and he said " the computer for the M6 and auto are the same, that feature can be turned on and off " Also said it was tuned by Redline Performance In Missouri... Is this a bad idea to run in my car? Keep in mind im 16 and my clutch went out so im on a tight budget but would like to get a tune in my car to be save.. Sorry for the long post, and thank you for any info on this!

Listen man... unless u have IDENTICAL mods... dont do it. people can say whatever they want and if u take their word u could end up with a junk motor. A tune is not the plave to skimp. spend the extra money and get a mail order tune from a reputable tuner.
Im on my phone so i cant see ur signature... what are ur mods?

Heres my mods:
(My car is a 95 Camaro z28, M6, stock gears, Lt Headers, LE 224/226 Cam, with Stock heads.) Okay sweet thank you for your opinion! I figured it'd be a good idea to ask over here before sending the money, I guess ill save up and go with a mail order for now until I have enough to take her to a dyno for a good tune. I know this question is asked a lot but what mail order tuner is the best bang for your buck? Thanks Again!

I need a tune as well, but I won't have someone else's tune that may or may not work with my mods controlling something I have spent yrs & lots of $$ building. Spend the extra few $$ & get a tune set up for your car, with your mods. You can get tunes for $100-$150. It may sound like a lot at 16, but save up & get it done right.

As far as mail order tuners go.
I like MOE BAILEY (he is MOEHORSEPOWER on here)
and BRYAN HERTER of PCM4less.
Make sure if u use PCM4less, its HERTER and not Kevin.

Heh, most of the tune I run in my Z is from SexyTransAm's car. I took a stock M6 tune and copied over all of the air, fueling, and spark info because his car is A4 with my cam. I also had to change the injector flow value but it was no big deal. I'd say it runs pretty well for the old turd it is. Only really has to last until the end of cruise week and then it gets ripped out.
As for you, I wouldn't advise using that PCM. There's a big difference between the 847 and your LE cam. Plus, you NEVER want to run a tune with the wrong injector flow values (assuming yours are stock/not 31lbs). You'll either lean out or wash your cylinders.

I agree, I would not use the PCM. I would purchase some tuning software, or evaluate tuner pro, and buy a cable. Also, I put a cc503 cam, rockers, bigger throttle body, long tubes & free flowing exhaust, and gears in mine, my car started up right off the bat(after I got the firing order right), I drove around with the stock tune for a little while, then I downloaded a tune off of here that had very similar mods to mine, almost the exact same except for a stall converter, and my car did not like it. So I am playing around with the shift tables, and leaving the stock timing and fuel tables the same, I am going to go for a driving logging it and see what happens. I wanted a baseline tune in the car so if I did take it to somebody who can tune it, they are not scratching there head trying to figure out what somebody has already done.
