Considering I couldn't even get the damn car to start today. Sunny, high of 32, wanted to drive it. No bueno on the start with the temps in the upper teens. Going to hit it a few times tomorrow and see what I can find.

Uggggg do you have room for something like a block heater to help out a little bit or maybe even putting a propane/torpedo heater in front of the car for a little bit?

That sucks... did you monitor it at all? Is it dumping 2 much fuel in due to the cold temps?

Same thing I was thinking. During cold the pcm goes to its tables with the very little sensor data it gets.

*ahem* FAST XFI. there's not enough fuel in it. Just gotta play with it until I get it right. I made some table changes tonight in the house, gonna upload and see where it gets me tomorrow. Bumped the Cranking fuel up quite a bit, and am going to hit the CTS correction pretty hard in car if I can get it to fire.

Ohhh, so the XFI does not refer to the ambient air temp sensor?

The XFI does, but it doesn't have nearly the tables available to it that a stock computer does. It's a little different game. Easier in a way, but not as fine tunable as a LSx PCM in my opinion.

So your going 24x is what you are hinting at

I take from it that compared to tuning his old vette with the ls pcm...this is more difficult cause of less parameters to change with the xfi

I was just reading through the XFI manual the other night......trying to deside if I wanna going to a aftermarket efi system so I can tune live and etc. But thought there was quite a few tables for something like that. Cause I live in MN to where the temps can very quite a bit from day to day. And fall and spring can be cold. But like he said it easier in someways but little bit more complicated in others. They are very indepth to tell you what table does what but its just getting it all to sink in and getting it to all work together. Gonna read through it again maybe next week and see what more I can take in.

sorry didnt mean to pull away from your topic.

Well.......pulled the cranking BPW compensation down some actually, and it tried to fire up quicker. Played with the CTS Enrichment table, and got it running smooth and very responsive at about 85*+ engine temps now, which is a MARKED improvement over before. Have NOT tried to drive it at that temp yet. Still want to get it firing up better dead cold first.

It's interesting, it didn't take much to affect the AFR sitting there idling. But what I couldn't do with the fueling was get it to come up to idle speed. It just wouldn't do it whether I went lean or rich with it. And I can't bump the TB open anymore because once it's fully warm, then I wouldn't be able to keep the idle in check and it would creep up on me. I'm puzzled by this.

Well.....FUCK! I was making progress today, and then she suddenly wouldn't start. I think I lost spark. Fuel pressure is good, XFI logger shows a BPW signal to the injectors, grounded the coil wire to a screwdriver in the engine bay best I could (I'm alone in this) and no sparky.....though I need to invest in a spark tester.......

Dammit!

After a quick trip to HF for a spark tester, I'm getting nothing off the coil. Wonder which it could be.........I'm betting on ICM.

Yeah, he got back to me via text at about 9:00 tonight. He's going to look tomorrow. He should have the file, he used his laptop to do the tuning.
