Solid crush sleeve

Anyone know if you set solid crush sleeve the same as if it were a regular one or do you have to do something different

Don't quote me here, but I'm pretty sure a solid sleeve doesn't crush. You have to use shims to get the proper bearing preload. You also need a beam style inch lb torque wrench to set it the "right" way.

No. A solid sleeve uses shims to set pre load. You set it to the same inch lb drag as a std crush sleeve is. Don't install the seal till you get the preload set.

The spacer I got was from ratechmfg.com it's called a "smart sleeve" it's a new style crush sleeve that does not use the spacers

Ok thanks guys. I got the new rear in with 4:10 gears and the solid crush sleeve and it sounds great no noise. I highly recommend the "smart sleeve"

I think we have a sticky somewhere... but real quick

-click on FORUM ACTIONS at the top of the page, under the pic of the camaro and TA


-choose edit profile


-chose SIGNATURE, or edit SIGNATURE on the left of the page

when your in there, you can type what you want in the white box for words and post a hosted link from another site like photobucket..or you can use the BROWSE box, and just upload a pic from your computer

pretty sure you need a computer to do so. Maybe a Mod could do it remotely for you. You send them the picure, they change the avatar... for a small one time fee of course :bigmoney2: :D
