244/290.. (mods in my sig).

It was dyno'd at New Era on a Dynojet. I know the numbers are spot on, and thats whats bugging me. lol

I have 2.73s, and it wasnt tuned. Mike @ New Era (tuner/owner) doesnt have the software to tune LTX cars. He used HP Tuners for all his tuning.

Sounds low. If your trapping 101mph in a 3500+ pound car im pretty sure your making more than that dyno says. Closer to 277hp lol

Heres the graph and some pics too.

I have been running 87 in it for awhile though, but just put some 93 in it last friday to kinda prepare for the dyno pull. Maybe that affected it a little?

Im not a tuner but things look all over the place. Get a tune

Seems low. How many miles on the plugs/wires? Are you sure you got them on good? How many miles have the headers been on?

Even a mail order tune should help quite a bit.

The plugs are new(er), the wires are kinda old. I put the headers, ory, and LM2 on probibly around the beginning of august. Theres probibly less than 2K on the plugs, headers, exhaust, and ORY.

I'm still torn about what I going to do with it.. I'm strongly considering a engine swap and putting a lower milage LT1 into it. So until I make my mind up, i'm not going to go any farther with mods. lol

Is it showing any signs of running bad? Running rich/lean? etc. It's worth the extra $$$ to get a a/f reading when you have it dyno'd.

Ooo, that dynograph looks rough. I agree with everyone here, get a tune. Plus our cars severely dislike anything but premium gas. I've tried 89 before and got pinging. Not what I wanted to hear. So yes it could have been getting some knock and retarding the timing. Plus go for the tune up and make sure you have no header leaks. I made pretty good power and my engine has 185,000 miles on it. So don't immediatly think the engine's wearing out.

Its actually running very good. Might be a tad rich, but nothing i'm too concerned about. I do a lot of work for New Era Performance on the side (where my car was dyno'd), and am there almost everyday, also I set the car up and strapped it down myself and Mike ran it on the dyno (so I coud have and should have tested that too :(), so it didnt cost me much .

I'm not blaming the low power because of the milage on the engine (165K), I only said I wanted to swap another motor in because it would be a better foundation to start modding off of. I wouldnt trust modding my car with the milage (It would probibly be fine, but its not ideal for modding). Its always ran great for me, but I dont want to throw something at my car that i'm not 100% positive it could handle without anything breaking (cam and a possibly a few other goodies). Granted, the great part about cars is that anything can break at any time, but i'd just feel a lot safer modding a lower milage car.

that hp and your weight(3500 est.) comes out to 96/97 mph ......
that is why i only use dynos for tuning purposes but the track is the proof......

Yeah, I ran a 14.1 @ 101 spinning the crap out of my crappy tires. CONSISTANT 2.3x 60's are just awesome... :claps:

I got some new tires on it, and my guess is that I should be in the ball park of a 13.7-13.8.

The numbesr seem a little low. Like everyone has stated, you trapping 101 shows that the car is making more power than that.

The one thing that concerns me is how rough the graph looks. With the smoothing set at 5, it should be pretty flat. It looks like you car is surging on the dyno. That could be due to many things, like a vibration from the drivetrain, out of balance tires, a miss, ETC.

One thing that may contribute to slightly lower numbers is the SAE correction factor set at .98. Most shops have it set to 1.

I am probibly going to retest it after the new water pump goes in (probibly next week). I know that didnt have anything to do with the numbers, but I just need a new water pump. lol. Hard to dyno a car without one and everything unbolted!

Seems low for the mods. The 101mph isn't horrible, but not great either. I agree that a tune would be a wise investment.

I would expect 104-106 with those mods man. Somethings iffy here.

It was my first and only time running my car at the track with those numbers. I was running on bald(ish) tires, and couldnt launch for crap. The track prep was also horrible that night, everyone was compaining too. I was doing 2.3X 60' and just couldnt hook up. It was a driver error at the track, not the car (at least i'm hoping).

BUT, I was consistant though..
